Fully Adhered 75 mil Reinforced White TPO Roofing System Engineered for Extreme Heat, UV Exposure, and Desert Conditions
Mr Khalid is a roofing contractor from Middle East. he tell us his demand or requirement as follows: all those roofing materials in this region must endure extreme ambient temperatures exceeding 45–50°C, intense ultraviolet (UV) radiation, frequent sandstorms, and strong desert winds. These combined factors significantly accelerate material aging and place exceptional stress on roofing membranes and seam performance. during the past, he always chooses those TPO imported from EU, and this time he want to low down the cost and testing material from us.
Key Environmental and Technical Challenges
Continuous high-temperature exposure leading to rapid thermal aging of conventional membranes.
Intense UV radiation accelerating surface degradation and loss of material flexibility.
Wind-driven sand and dust, causing surface abrasion over long service periods.
Large roof spans subject to significant thermal expansion and contraction, increasing stress on seams and attachment systems.
The need to minimize membrane movement and flutter under strong desert winds.
These factors required a roofing system with high material stability, strong adhesion to the substrate, and reliable seam integrity.
Our Recommendation: 75 mil Shuangshi Reinforced White TPO Roofing Membrane
After technical evaluation, we recommended our 75 mil reinforced white TPO roofing membrane, specifically designed for extreme heat and high-UV environments, and sending samples for their inspection. one month later, we get their response of testing result and also their order.
Key performance characteristics included:
75 mil (approximately 1.9 mm) thickness, providing enhanced puncture resistance and long-term dimensional stability.
Polyester reinforcement layer, significantly improving tensile strength and resistance to thermal and mechanical stress.
White, highly reflective surface, reducing roof surface temperatures and slowing thermal aging.
Excellent resistance to UV radiation, ozone, and heat oxidation, ensuring long-term durability.
Dense, smooth surface structure that minimizes long-term damage from wind-blown sand particles.
Installation Method: Fully Adhered System with Hot-Air Welded Seams
Considering the building’s structural requirements and the need to control membrane movement under strong winds, a fully adhered TPO roofing system was selected.
Advantages of the Fully Adhered Method in Middle Eastern Conditions
Full-surface adhesion eliminates membrane flutter, reducing stress caused by high winds.
Even load distribution across the substrate enhances overall system stability.
Improved aesthetic appearance with a smooth, uniform roof surface.
Reduced risk of fastener-related thermal bridging or localized stress points.
We also provide our neoprene roofing adhesive which perfect compatible with TPO membranes, ensuring stable bonding performance even under extreme ambient conditions.
At last, all membrane overlaps must be hot-air welded, forming homogeneous, monolithic seams with excellent long-term watertight performance.
Now Mr Khalid has become our long-term local partners and loyal customers.
